For every student, speaking alone in a stage in front of a real audience for about 40 minutes was something completely new. We faced a challenge. We didn't have any example to follow, just our thoughts.
At the same time I faced two other challenges. For my iPOL (Internship Presentation of Learning), I didn't have media to use because of terms I had agreed to while working in the company. Definitely, it was hard to catch the audience's attention without media, so I decided to get off my spot and I told the audience about my internship and I even drew graphs to in a stand to show what I had learned. Moreover, enunciating while speaking is one of the areas I definitely need to improve on, and by practice and increase in confidence, I was able to overcome this challenge.
Not just because of it being the first time or of the stress that gathered up during finals week, giving a POL will always be a challenge in which you seek to improve in something. Probably, it would be easier if we broke up our POL and iPOL and gave the POL before we started our internships. But in the end, it was a great learning experience to reflect on the entire semester, tie up ideas, and present to a real audience everything that we learned and that impacted us in some way.
